During a scrum on Twitter, U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) challenged International Brotherhood of Teamsters leader Sean O’Brian to an mixed martial arts match in a truly bizarre week for high-profile matches.

The pair have been verbally sparring during congressional hearings for months. One specific instance featured Mullin accusing O’Brian of “sucking money” out of people’s pockets in reference to union dues. O’Brian retorted by telling the senator he’s out of line and mocking him as a “tough guy.”

Mullin has given O’Brian three days to accept their match, which would be on Sept. 30 in Tulsa, Okla. according to Mullin’s stipulations.

Mullin very briefly competed as a middleweight MMA fighter in the Xtreme Fighting League in the mid-2000s, according to Sherdog. He fought and won three fights between 2006 and 2007, winning twice by submission and once by technical knockout.
