While promoting his new book “Renegade” at a book festival in Atlanta, former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) vowed to return to Georgia next year and campaign against former President Donald Trump (R). Kinzinger also said Democrats must win the White House in 2024, and that he’d help them do it.

“There’s only one thing on the ballot in 2024: Do you support democracy or authoritarianism?” Kinzinger said.

After the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Kinzinger became one of the few members of the GOP to criticize the actions of Trump openly and regularly. Since not seeking reelection in 2022, Kinzinger has continued to lambast members of the GOP who say they oppose Trump but would vote for him in 2024.
