Pop musician Taylor Swift urged her 282 million followers on Instagram to vote on Tuesday, as her home state of Tennessee and 15 others across the U.S. hold their primary elections on “Super Tuesday.”

The post comes after a tumultuous year in the Tennessee General Assembly, which brought up conversations of racism and overreach of power on the part of House Speaker Cameron Sexton. Swift grew up in Pennsylvania but owns two properties in Nashville, where she is registered to vote, according to CNN political reporter Kylie Atwood.

In 2020, Swift endorsed President Joe Biden for the presidential election, and she has been critical of former President Donald Trump in the past.
