U.S. Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) has retained his seat in Congress, holding a tossup district for the Republican Party.

Perry faced a serious threat to his reelection from former WGAL-TV anchor Janelle Stelson, who came within 6,000 votes of ousting the far-right representative, according to the Associated Press. Perry garnered over 203,000 votes while Stelson got over 197,000.

In her effort against Perry, Stelson outraised the 11-year incumbent by $1.5 million. A poll from Susquehanna Polling & Research from early October suggested a nine-point advantage for Stelson, and Cook Political Report shifted the race from Leans Republican to a tossup 18 days before the election.
