Glenn Grothman says feminist and Black Lives Matter goals are to ‘get the man out of the family’

During an appearance on the “Hometown Broadcasting Podcast” Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI) said that the goal of the feminism and Black Lives Matter movements are to “get the man out of the family.”

When asked by the host about marriage, Grothman said that as a man in his sixties, he remembers a time where “we had a lot better and wholesome America.”

“If you look in the 60’s, the feminist movement, Kate Millett was anti-family. The goal of the feminist movement was to get the man out of the family,” Grothman said. “And of course, then you move up in time, even the Black Lives Matter Movement. The founders of Black Lives Matter, a goal was to destroy the family.”

Later in the interview, Grothman — who is not married and does not have children — suggested that having a two-parent family is the ultimate goal for Americans.

“Our government is actively bribing people to now have that kind of setup, which of course is the best thing for the kids, and the best thing for the guys because they become more responsible and more motivated if they are responsible for taking care of a family,” Grothman continued.

Grothman has served in Congress since 2015, and he served in the Wisconsin state Legislature from 1993-2015. During his time in government, Grothman has been an opponent same-sex marriage, equal pay for women and public funding for 4-year-old kindergarten.
