After contending that overturning Roe v. Wade was the correct decision by the Supreme Court of the United States, Bahr told a volunteer in secretly recorded audio that abortion in Minnesota should be banned and women should have to “pay the consequences” for partying.

“If you’re going to party, you got to pay the consequences,” Bahr tells the volunteer.
Bahr’s campaign did not respond to a request to comment to elaborate on his words and his abortion stance.
In May 2023, Bahr went viral after a meeting of the Legislative Audit Commission, a committee he serves on as a state senator. Bahr attended the meeting via Zoom and briefly appeared shirtless on camera when he cast a “yes” vote before quickly turning the camera off. Bahr also appeared to be laying down while an image from “Schoolhouse Rock” appeared as his background. A GOP spokesperson at the time said Bahr worked until 4:45 a.m. for his truck driving business the day before.
Bahr has served in the Minnesota state government since 2017, and he is considered one of the body’s most conservative members.
