On “Hawk Takes the Wheel,” I talk cars — from service to sales, new, used, rebuilt, leased, financed, accidents, claims, settlements. Plus, a dash of current events and progressive politics!

About Warren “Hawk” Preis
I started my auto career in May of 1967 at Lee Calan Imports as a car porter, and over the next 17 years did every job in the company, until I became its president and general manager. I left that position in September of 1983 and went to work for European & US Car Service on the North Side of Chicago. A few months later, I purchased the company, and for the next 39-plus years gave my heart and soul to Wrigleyville, Lakeview, Uptown and the rest of the Chicagoland area.  I also served as chairman and/or president of Chicago City Colleges Volunteers of Vocational Education for a period of time, helping organize the eventual expansion of the automotive program that eventually was built at the Oliver-Harvey campus. I was on another Chicago radio station with Patti Vasquez, doing “WE GOTTA GUY” auto talk for several years. I also worked directly with Perillo BMW, Chicago Northside Toyota and Downtown Volkswagen at their direct autobody repair facility.
