The Gaily Show

Schedule: Monday - Saturday 10PM-11PM

“The Gaily Show” is a daily progressive news and talk show with verifiable facts and progressive analysis that is tailor-made for the queer and allied community. It is the only daily LGBTQ progressive news and talk show in the United States!

GLAAD Media Award nominees John Parker and Jim Pounds are your hosts for an unapologetic hour-long program. They talk to leading legislators, authors, journalists, health care providers, radio hosts, researchers, activists, and more.

Tune in every other Thursday to get the latest in-depth reporting on Chicago’s LGBTQ community from Jake Wittich, managing editor of Chicago’s Windy City Times. Plus, John and Jim regularly talk to Christopher Kane, White House correspondent for the Washington Blade.

About the Hosts

John Parker hosts “The Gaily Show,” the only daily LGBTQ progressive news and talk show in the United States. He was a 2024 GLAAD Media Award nominee for Outstanding Podcast (“This Queer Book Saved My Life”) and is a member of The Podcast Academy, twice serving as judge for The Ambies. He started his career in television broadcasting, working at WPBN-WTOM in Traverse City, MI, and WXMI in Grand Rapids, MI. As a queer Armenian-American, he wanted to support his communities’ readers and writers so he founded the Queer Armenian Library, the world’s first library devoted to works by, about, and for queer Armenians. In 2024, Oxford University’s Bodleian Library featured it on display and purchased the books for their permanent collection. He was a 2022 Lambda Literary Fellow and his writing has appeared in the anthologies “The Sun Isn’t Out Long Enough” (Anamot Press), “We Are All Armenian” (University of Texas Press), and “Emerge” (Lambda Literary). He resides with his partners, splitting their time between Minneapolis and the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Jim Pounds is the executive producer of “The Gaily Show.” A 27-year career in advertising agencies (both in L.A. and the Twin Cities) was followed by a 12-year career in marketing for higher education. Overlay that with a 15-year stint teaching a capstone marketing class at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and you have a solid skill set of reaching and motivating consumers. Jim was the media director for the campaign that introduced the Mall of America to the world in 1992. Jim served on the Board of the Advertising Federation of MN for four years and was part of the team that won a Grand Effie Award from the American Marketing Association, for the first campaign to elect Paul Wellstone to the U.S. Senate in 1990. Jim is also an actor and has performed professionally since 2004. He was a 2024 GLAAD Media Award nominee for Outstanding Podcast as executive producer of “This Queer Book Saved My Life.”
