Per exclusive reporting from Jezebel last week, court filings show that Republican nominee in Michigan’s Secretary of State race Kristina Karamo allegedly tried to crash a car with her husband and two children inside.

Karamo’s ex-husband, Adom Karamo, claims the incident occurred after he asked his wife for a divorce. Adom Karamo was driving a vehicle with their two children in the back seat when Kristina Karamo supposedly grabbed the wheel and exclaimed “F— it, I’ll kill us all.”

In the court documents, Adom Karamo suggested that his ex-wife threatened to kill herself and their daughters on several occasions.

There is a long history of Kristina Karamo’s questionable behavior and disturbing public commentary. After gaining national recognition as an election denier, Kristina Karamo set her sights on the Secretary of State office in Michigan. Much of her campaign is centered around investigating voter fraud which does not exist but she also frequently expresses her dissatisfaction with the LGBTQ community.

The Republican party in Michigan and Donald Trump both have endorsed Kristina Karamo in her election. She will face incumbent Democrat Jocelyn Benson in the general election in November.
