Minnesota state representative says Democrats are Satanists trying to ‘kill’ and ‘control’ everyone
During a “Faith and Freedom” gathering last month, Minnesota state Rep. Walter Hudson (R-Albertville) openly accused Democrats of being “Satanists” that are trying to “kill us all or control us.”
“Is there a conspiracy to kill us all or control us?” Hudson asked the audience. “I would say it’s not a conspiracy because they’re just telling us that that’s what they’re doing.”

Word of Life Ministries hosted the Q&A, in which Republican constituents expressed concerns with the results of the 2022 midterm elections and the absence of a predicted “red wave.” Participants in attendance asked questions about education, marijuana legalization, abortion and the new Democratic trifecta in Minnesota. Hudson was responding to a question about a conspiracy theory regarding the depopulation of the Earth when he brought up Satanic accusations.
“This is another thing that my friend, he kind of blew my mind. And I don’t know if this is true or not,” Hudson continued. “He said that he had heard that the actual Church of Satan — so like real Satanists, people who are openly Satanic — that one of their, I don’t know if you would call it a doctrine or methodology or what it is. But they believe that if they tell you what they are going to do to you, it absolves them of any moral responsibility for it. And if that’s true, it goes a long way towards explaining a lot of things that we’ve seen and are continuing to see because they do that.”
Hudson is a newly elected representative who assumed office less than three weeks prior to this panel. He ran for office on far-right ideas such as criminalizing abortion, arresting protesters and eliminating sex education from schools.
Rep. Brian Johnson (R-Cambridge), state Sen. Mark Koran (R-North Branch) and state Sen. Eric Lucero (R-St. Michael) were also on the panel responding to questions.
(4/25: A previous version said that state Sen. Mark Koran resided in North Koran. He resides in North Branch.)
