U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) has introduced articles of impeachment against the same federal judge who blocked most of the Trump administration from accessing sensitive data at the Treasury Department.
U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) has introduced articles of impeachment against the same federal judge who blocked most of the Trump administration from accessing sensitive data at the Treasury Department.
The Donald Trump loyalist introduced a three-page impeachment proceeding on New York District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer. Earlier this month, Engelmeyer blocked the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing the private data of American citizens without oversight.
In a post on X, Van Orden accused Engelmeyer and other judges blocking the administration’s potential overreach of being a “politician in disguise.”
The time for Judicial Activism is over.
The American people gave @realDonaldTrump a mandate and no politician disguised as a jurist will interfere with it. https://t.co/hgeLGd5paN

The measure also accuses Engelmayer of “clear bias and prejudice” against Trump.
Van Orden has been a staunch defender of the administration’s efforts in the first month of Trump’s second presidential term, including indicating support for U.S. military intervention in the Gaza Strip.
