Dr. Mehmet Oz is the Republican nominee for Pennsylvania’s open Senate seat, but it is unclear where he even lives in Pennsylvania.

The property Oz listed as his address on his statement of candidacy is a commercial building located in Huntingdon Valley. Oz’s website says that the same address is also his campaign headquarters. He also misspelled the city in the statement.

The 62-year-old heart surgeon has been attempting to link himself to Pennsylvania even though he grew up in Delaware and lived in New Jersey for decades. According the Philadelphia Inquirer, Oz only bought a house in Pennsylvania in 2022, and he does not even live there.

In a recent interview on John Frederick’s podcast, Oz gave his opinion on Democratic senators for their “second and third summer homes.”

“People in Pennsylvania tell me they can’t go on vacation this summer,” Oz said. “They’re not going anywhere, but the folks you mentioned are going to these beautiful houses, their second or third houses they’ve got. But that’s not what’s going on with many people in Pennsylvania. They can’t because they spend so much money filling up their gas tank that they can’t take their kids anywhere.”

In the interview, Oz did not mention that he himself is the owner of several properties in the United States and in Turkey. Oz’s own financial disclosure, which every candidate has to submit to run for the Senate, points to his net worth totaling at least $100 million in stocks and assets. Although precise numbers are not required in the report, the largest asset linked to Oz is a beachfront property in Palm Beach, Fla. that has an estimated value of $48 million according to Zillow. The 10,000-square-foot estate is available to rent for $275,000 a month.

Other assets that belong to Oz include properties in New Jersey, New Hampshire and Turkey that bring him millions every year. Oz also has millions invested in stocks like Amazon, Apple and Microsoft despite calling the big tech industry a cartel.

The celebrity doctor recently won the Republican primary in Pennsylvania, beating out former hedge fund manager Dave McCormick by less than a hundred votes. His campaign has been centered on issues such as strengthening the middle class and bringing down elites.

Oz will be facing Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman (D) for an important Senate seat that is currently held by retiring Republican Pat Toomey. Unlike Oz, Fetterman was born and raised in Pennsylvania and served as the mayor of Braddock for thirteen years.  Fetterman won his primary in by over 400,000 votes, and he is leading Oz in early polls.
