After the Alabama Supreme Court’s controversial in-vitro fertilization (IVF) ruling, Pennsylvania Senate candidate David McCormick made a post on X saying he opposes any effort to restrict the procedure.

But according to a newsletter from Pittsburgh’s NPR station WESA, a spokesperson from McCormick’s campaign refused to directly answer whether the candidate would support Sen. Tamy Duckworth’s (D-IL) bill to protect IVF. In response to the question, the spokesperson said McCormick “will consider any legislation that protects this pro-family procedure.”

McCormick is vying for the seat currently held by Sen. Bob Casey (D), who first assumed office in 2007. McCormick gained an endorsement from Freedom Caucus member and “fellow wrestler” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) earlier this week.
