On Tuesday, Minnesota Republican Senate candidate Royce White inaccurately posted to X a map of drinking fountains in the city of Minneapolis’ parks, falsely saying it was a crime map.

“Crime in Minneapolis… Out of control. Come on now. Refund the Police! #Godspeed,” White wrote as the caption.

But Minnesota Reformer reporter Christopher Ingraham later revealed in a post on X that White did not share what he claimed — it was actually a map of all the drinking fountains in the city.

The map was originally posted as a joke by X user “Mpls Dad,” who promptly clarified the true nature of the map just below his original post.

“I didn’t expect anyone to actually believe it was a crime map,” the unidentified user told the Minnesota Reformer in a message. “I can’t believe SO MANY people fell for it, especially a GOP-endorsed US Senate candidate.”

After receiving immediate criticism on the post, White responded to a few comments directly on X with insults such as, “Shut your mouth you blue wave cuck.”

The GOP-endorsed candidate has since updated the post to show a map of shots fired in Minneapolis. However, White failed to mention that the statistic has declined by almost 17% this year.
