Sean Duffy, ‘sex-crazed’ reality star turned congressman, set to join reality-star-turned-President-elect Trump’s cabinet

Sean Duffy, the former Republican congressman from Wisconsin and star of MTV’s “Real World,” has been tapped to join another reality star turned poltician’s endeavors, this time as President-elect Donald Trump’s Transportation secretary. Monday’s announcement comes as no surprise given Trump’s long-standing relationship with Fox News, which has increasingly shaped his cabinet selections.

Duffy first rose to national fame in 1997, when he appeared on the reality show “The Real World: Boston.” He gained infamous notoriety for being the most “sex-crazed” contestant on the show, which was a staple of MTV’s early programming. Years after his reality TV fame, Duffy was elected as a Republican to Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District in 2010, a position he held until his retirement in 2019.

During his eight years in Congress, Duffy built a reputation as a staunch conservative.
